Twilight Fans

If you haven't seen this yet, you've got to read it. It is a spoof of Breaking Dawn (which is coming out Saturday. As if you didn't know.)

New Fans

We got new fans this week and Grandma installed them before she left. The lady who owned this house before us must have loved ceiling fans. We have seven of them. Two in the family room, two in the kitchen and one in each bedroom. We've lived here 8 years now and the fans were getting old and well, downright ugly. The two in the FR were in the worst condition so we replaced those first. I love my new fans. They're much prettier. And they're bigger and cool us off better in the summer.

Memories

I've seen this on a few of your blogs, so I decided to play along.

Here's the directions:

1. As a comment on this post, leave one memory that you had with any of the family together with you. It doesn't matter if you know us a little or a lot, anything you can remember! (Especially the stuff that makes us laugh!!)

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

Tagged!

I have been tagged!!

Ten years ago: Ten years ago I was about to turn 20 and planning my wedding.

Five things on today's to-do list: Well, it's Sunday so me to-do list was basically shower, dress, get the boy dressed, and go to church.

A snack I enjoy: Hershey's Cookies and Cream Kisses. An evil candy created to destroy me. But so yummy.

Things I would do if I were a millionaire: I don't know if I'd want a new house, but I'd want to fix up this one. I'm not sure what else I'd do. It'll never happen anyway.

Places I have lived: Arizona, Utah, Texas, Missouri, back to AZ, back to UT.

I tag Rachel, Nancy, Mary, April and Brook. I think that's everyone, except Amy who tagged me.

Creepy!

Look what we found on our front door the other day.

Russ thinks it's a moth. I say it's a moth on steroids. Come to think of it, I saw some giant ants on the driveway yesterday. Maybe all the insects are on steroids.

Swim Lessons

When I was a kid we had swim lessons every summer without fail. And I admit I hated it most of the time. Now it's my turn to inflict this summer time torture on my own child. Of course, he complains about me dragging him away from his video games and TV, but once he gets there he does enjoy the water. What he doesn't enjoy is the teacher insisting that he put his head under the water. Jonathan's class has only 3 students so they all get a lot of one on one time with the teacher. We really lucked out because most classes have 5 or more kids.

Tennis Elbow

That's the diagnosis. And I've never played tennis in my life! Actually "tennis elbow" is kind of a nickname for a very long medical term I can't pronounce. It was probably caused initially by my clumsiness and then made worse by me continuing to do things like playing the piano and lifting toddlers. (Not at the same time) So, I get to wear some lovely new accessories on my arms for 3 weeks and if that doesn't help I get a shot.

Holiday fun

Our celebrating started on the 3rd when we all painted t-shirts to wear to the 4th of July parade. We had the kids put their handprint and the year on the back of their shirts. I love how Jonathan's turned out. Then we let them decorate the front any way they wanted. Afterwards, Jonathan, Nic and Alyssa played in the sprinklers to cool off.

The morning of the 4th, we woke up early to go to the parade in Murray. Let me just say that this parade has gone downhill fast. There was only 1 marching band, and a couple Pipe bands. The rest was businesses and political candidates. Yeah, they throw a lot of candy, but I'd rather buy the kids a bag of candy than sit in the sun for a boring parade. Still, the kids did have fun chasing candy. One of the highlights of the holiday is having Aunt Kerri visit. She is like the big sister Jonathan never had. They tease each other just like siblings, but Jonathan loves it when she visits. Later that evening, after naps, we went back to Great Grandma's and set off our own fireworks. Once it got dark we had the best seats for Murray city's fireworks show.

Um... ouch!

I have been extra accident prone the last couple days. Wednesday I missed a step on the stairs, landing on my already sore right arm. I injured it pulling weeds a couple months ago (long story). Then, today we took Trax up to the Children's Museum. Anyway, we got on the train and I was in the process of sitting down when the train started moving. It threw me forward, flat on my face and bent my left pinky finger backwards. I don't think it is broken, but it is swollen and stiff and basically useless. I also have a bruise on my head from where I hit the floor, fortunately it is under my hair. I think I've hit my humiliation quota for the month.
